The IE expo Shanghai 2027 will take place from 20 to 22 April 2027 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) and is one of the leading trade fairs for environmental technologies in Asia. As part of the international IFAT network, the exhibition provides a central platform for companies, public institutions and decision-makers to showcase innovative solutions in the fields of water, wastewater, waste management, circular economy, air pollution control and sustainable technologies.

The exhibition brings together international technology providers, industry experts and decision-makers, offering companies the opportunity to establish new business contacts, develop partnerships and present their solutions in one of the world’s most important markets for environmental technologies.

The IE expo Shanghai focuses on solutions for water and wastewater treatment, water supply and distribution, pumping and piping technologies, environmental monitoring, resource management, digitalisation and sustainable infrastructure. The exhibition is complemented by an extensive programme of conferences and professional events addressing current technological developments and industry trends.

China continues to invest in the modernisation of its environmental and water infrastructure as well as in sustainable technologies. In particular, there is a strong demand for innovative solutions and international expertise in areas such as water quality, wastewater treatment, resource efficiency and smart infrastructure. The IE expo Shanghai offers German companies an important platform to showcase their technologies and expertise in this dynamic market and to establish new contacts with potential partners and customers.

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) will also support a German Pavilion at the IE expo Shanghai in 2027. The organisation is carried out in cooperation with the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA).

GWP members have the opportunity to participate in this joint stand and present their expertise to an international professional audience under the quality label “Made in Germany”.

Registration German Pavilion

To register for all trade fairs within the German Federal Government’s Foreign Trade Fair Programme, companies must complete a one-time, non-binding registration via the German Pavilion online portal. This step is only required once and applies to all future trade fair participations.

Once your accreditation has been activated (usually within one to two working days), you can register online for your participation in the foreign trade fair programme.

Registration for the IE expo Shanghai 2027 is currently not open yet. However, you can already register your interest and will be informed as soon as the registration process starts.
