Field of expertise: Project management: administration, finances, communication, event management
Carreer: Prior to working with GWP, she had the privilege of being involved in several projects and programmes within various international organisations. She has many years of experience in the field of development project management.
Graduate in envrionmental management and sustainable development, she is above all passionate about environmental issues, particularly the sustainable management of natural resources such as water. To this end, she has had the opportunity to be involved in environmental impact assessment and audits, which are essential for the implementation of projects. Her jurist background has made her familiar with water management regulations.

Field of expertise: As Advisor for International Programs, Lucie König is responsible for the Regional Forum East Asia and Eastern & Southern Africa. She leads the Working Group on Urban Water Resilience, which focuses on climate change adaptation, specifically dealing with extreme weather events in urban areas. She supports various activities and measures for foreign trade promotion at German Water Partnership.
Background: Lucie König completed her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Law in Jena and Budapest. During her master’s degree in European and Interantional Politics in Innsbruck, she focused on climate and environmental policy. Through an internship at GIZ she gained first experiences in development cooperation and a particular interest in water was sparked, which ultimately led her to German Water Partnership.

Field of expertise: As advisor for international programmes at German Water Partnership, Larika Waldmann is in charge of the partner Africa project AGTIWAS. Since October 2024, she is the Project Director of the GAPWAS project. She is also the contact person for the GWP Regional Section Latin America and the Export Initiative Environmental Protection – GreenTech „Made in Germany“ of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) within GWP.
Carreer: Larika Waldmann is an Advisor for International Programs at German Water Partnership. Previously, she worked in project coordination in the NGO sector in Guatemala for over two years, where she also gained experience in organisational development and the establishment and maintenance of institutional partnerships. She holds a Master’s degree in International Studies in Peace, Conflict and Development. She is fluent in English and Spanish, and has a good understanding of French.

Field of expertise: As an advisor for international programmes at the German Water Partnership office, Amina Hussein is responsible for the organisation and implementation of events in the context of foreign trade promotion focused on the water sector. In particular, she is oversees the Regional Sections Middle East and North Africa as well as the Working Group Industrial Water Management.
Carreer: Before joining German Water Partnership, Amina Hussein worked at a consultancy in Barcelona, at the foreign office of a foundation in the Palestinian Territories and at the Federal Press and Information Office of the German Government. She holds a Master’s degree in Security Risk Management (MSc.) from the University of Copenhagen and worked for a security and risk consultancy in Copenhagen during her studies.

Carreer: Rebekka Neef studied history and sociology. Before her path led her to Berlin and to German Water Partnership e. V., she worked as a marketing officer for a municipal energy and water supplier for four years, worked as a communications manager for a hotel in Norway and was in charge of press and public relations for a theatre in Potsdam. She brings a wide range of experience in the areas of communication, press relations, marketing and project management in various industries.

The African continent represents an important market for companies in the German water sector, with its significance steadily increasing. Technologies and know-how "Made in Germany" offer an opportunity to counteract the challenges of local water and sanitation supply.
After the successful implementation of "Ask the Experts" with exciting presentations and over 60 participants from Germany and Africa, we are looking forward to the second session on January 20th, 2022. This time, the topic of "leakage detection" will be at the center of the presentations and discussions.
A guide for decision makers in the industrial wastewater sector in the MENA and India regions to help implement effective and sustainable strategies and technologies.
2021 is coming to an end and with that, we can look back at another successful year for the GWP-Network.
