Field of expertise: As Advisor for International Programs, Lucie König leads the Working Group on Urban Water Resilience, which focuses on climate change adaptation, specifically dealing with extreme weather events in urban areas. She supports various activities and measures for foreign trade promotion at German Water Partnership.

Background: Lucie König completed her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Law in Jena and Budapest. During her master’s degree in European and Interantional Politics in Innsbruck, she focused on climate and environmental policy. Through an internship at GIZ she gained first experiences in development cooperation and a particular interest in water was sparked, which ultimately led her to German Water Partnership.

Water means to me: Water is the basic element of life. The scarcity of this indispensable good poses great challenges for the world. At the same time, sustainable management offers opportunities for international cooperation, development and peace.
