The Fachverband Verfahrenstechnische Maschinen und Apparate is one of more than 30 trade associations in the VDMA Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau e.V. and the representative body and network for more than 300 predominantly German manufacturers of apparatus, machinery and equipment for process technology.

With their 46,400 employees, the companies represent a production volume of 7.7 billion euros (2018). More than two thirds of production is exported worldwide, leading with a global market share of 17 percent.
