Berlin, 3 January 2023 – The long-standing Managing Director of German Water Partnership e.V., Ms Julia Braune, will be joining Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), the German government’s economic development agency, as its first Managing Director on 1 February 2023. Julia Braune took over as Managing Director of GWP, the only German network of the internationally active water industry, in 2017 after holding various positions in management and as Managing Director in the field of environmental services.
“Julia Braune’s move to GTAI is, on the one hand, a loss for the GWP network, as her work has achieved a great deal in recent years and GWP has developed significantly with Julia Braune. This is exemplified by her new assumption of responsibility at the head of an important foreign trade institution. On the other hand, we heartily congratulate Julia Braune on her success. We are convinced that we will continue to work well and closely with her in the future,” says Gunda Röstel, Chairwoman of the Board of GWP and Commercial Director of Stadtentwässerung Dresden GmbH.
Hubertus Soppert, long-time GWP board member and former managing director of p2mBerlin, will take over the management of the GWP office until a new managing director is appointed.
