Where Water Meets AI – Industry Conference 2027

How are water availability and water management shaping the future of global industries? And what role can artificial intelligence play in making industrial processes more efficient and sustainable?

Under the theme “Where Water Meets AI”, the Wilo Group will host an international industry conference in Dortmund on 25 February 2027. Organised in cooperation with German Water Partnership, the German Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV) and the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany, the event will bring together high-level representatives from business, politics and international organisations.

The conference will explore three key topics at the intersection of water, technology and industrial value chains:

• Critical raw materials and water resources: How can growing demand for critical minerals, industrial water use and community access to water be balanced?
• Water as a critical factor in semiconductor manufacturing: What challenges arise from the industry’s high water demand and increasing water scarcity?
• Artificial intelligence and water: What is the actual water footprint of AI, and how can the technology contribute to smarter water management?

Confirmed speakers include Oliver Hermes, President & Global CEO of the Wilo Group, and Stefan Rouenhoff, Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. Keynotes, expert talks and panel discussions will provide diverse perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing an increasingly digitalised industrial landscape.

The conference will also offer opportunities for international exchange and networking with stakeholders from industry, technology and politics.
