Technical Exchange “Ask the Experts” | 1st Session on Water Decontamination
“Ask the Experts” is a series of events within the framework of the German-African Partnership for Water and Sanitation (GAPWAS), our partnership project with the African Water Association (AfWA) in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The concept aims to promote technical exchange between German and African experts in the water and sanitation sector while addressing specific challenges faced by members of both associations.
The first session will address the issue of Water Decontamination (heavy metals, arsenic and manganese). Our expert panel is composed of:
- Dr Seydou NIANG, Scientist & Associate Researcher, Laboratory of Wastewater Treatment (LATEU)
- Dr Dirk Steinhilber, Global Technical Marketing Manager, LANXESS
- Dr Stéphane Claon, Director of LAQUE (Water Quality Analysis and Control Laboratory)
- Mathias Stief, Engineer for Environmental and Process Engineering, PWT Wasser- und Abwassertechnik GmbH
Dr Gunda Röstel, Chairwoman of the Board of GWP, will open the series of events. The moderator will be AfWA’s Managing Director, Sylvain Usher.
The presentations by our four experts will be followed by a wide-ranging discussion where questions can be asked, best practices shared and new contacts made.
Registration is via Zoom. The event will be held in English with the possibility of simultaneous translation into French.
We look forward to your participation!
