Middle East Water Forum: Transboundary Water Resources – Hydro Diplomacy, Cooperation, International Water Law Conventions
The Middle East Water Forum is pleased to announce its next online seminar devoted to the issue of transboundary water resources – covering both surface water and groundwater. While national water resource management has been an issue that is highlighted in connection with achieving the SDGs, and now the impact of COVID 19, in the years to 2030, in many regions the governance of transboundary waters is expected to be a more significant factor. While it would seem that the evolution of hydro diplomacy, international cooperation, implementation fo some of the international water law conventions may well have stalled in the past few years.
The aim of the online seminar is to provide information and opinions on current issues that affect transboundary water governance, a look ahead on key issues that are expected to emerge in the coming years up to the achievement of the SDGs by 2030 and the impact of COVID-19 and its influence on socio-economics of the Middle East, North Africa and South Asian region.
