The IFAT Africa 2027 will take place from 6 to 8 July 2027 at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa and is one of the leading trade fairs for water, sewage, waste and recycling in Sub-Saharan Africa. As part of the international IFAT network, the exhibition provides a central platform for companies, public institutions and decision-makers to showcase innovative technologies and solutions for sustainable infrastructure development.

The exhibition brings together international technology providers, industry experts and decision-makers from the region, offering companies the opportunity to establish new business contacts, develop partnerships and present their solutions in one of Africa’s most important future markets for environmental technologies. IFAT Africa promotes the exchange of knowledge and technologies and connects international providers with African markets.

The IFAT Africa focuses on solutions for water and wastewater treatment, water supply and distribution, drainage, pumping and piping technologies, recycling, waste management, resource efficiency, environmental monitoring and sustainable infrastructure. The exhibition is complemented by professional events and exchange formats addressing current challenges and technological developments in the environmental sector.

Many countries in Sub-Saharan Africa face major challenges in expanding and modernising their water and environmental infrastructure. In particular, there is a growing demand for innovative technologies and international expertise in areas such as water supply, wastewater treatment, water resource management, recycling and the circular economy. IFAT Africa offers German companies an important platform to showcase their solutions in this dynamic market and establish new contacts with potential partners and customers.

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) will also support a German Pavilion at IFAT Africa in 2027. The organisation is carried out in cooperation with the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA).

GWP members have the opportunity to participate in this joint stand and present their expertise to an international professional audience under the quality label “Made in Germany”.

Registration German Pavilion

To register for all trade fairs within the German Federal Government’s Foreign Trade Fair Programme, companies must complete a one-time, non-binding registration via the German Pavilion online portal. This step is only required once and applies to all future trade fair participations.

Once your accreditation has been activated (usually within one to two working days), you can register online for your participation in the foreign trade fair programme.

Registration for the IFAT Africa 2027 is currently not open yet. However, you can already register your interest and will be informed as soon as the registration process starts.
