The Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC) is an international platform aimed at jointly advancing sustainable development and developing concrete solutions to the most pressing global challenges. As a high-level forum, the HSC brings together decision-makers from politics, business, science, and civil society to strengthen partnerships, promote innovative approaches, and accelerate the implementation of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Goals of the HSC

The conference aims to strengthen trust and cooperation at the global level, promote multilateral exchange, and initiate concrete partnerships between actors from different sectors. It seeks to pave the way for sustainable, resilient systems and promote concrete measures that have been proven to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. Through dialogue, co-creation formats, and solution-oriented cooperation, new alliances for social and ecological transformation are to be created.

Program & Content

The HSC 2026 program is thematically focused on three central pillars:

1. Resilient economies, technology, and the future of our planet – with a focus on economic stability, technological innovation, and ecological integration.
2. Risk, uncertainty, and conflict – how global risks can be managed and resilience strengthened.
3. Multilateralism and governance – new approaches to international cooperation and governance structures for sustainable development.

The conference combines high-profile keynotes, panel discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions to develop practical perspectives and strategic solutions. In addition to the main program, accompanying activities and dialogue formats will take place in the city of Hamburg to further deepen the exchange between international guests and the local public. The final program will be published in spring 2026.

GWP participation

GWP will actively participate in HSC 2026 with its own session. In this format, GWP will contribute its expertise and discuss strategic approaches and solution components for sustainability issues together with international actors.
