Berlin, 07.01.2021 – “Smart Water for Resilient Cities” – under this umbrella theme, the BLUE PLANET Berlin Water Dialogues event series will continue on February 25th, 2021. Representatives of the international water industry are invited to exchange ideas on innovative asset management processes and sustainable water supply in metropolitan areas. For the first time, the event will take place online and offers participants an interactive platform with a variety of networking opportunities. The event is supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises.

The city of Berlin with its variety of scientific institutions as well as its lively start-up scene is known as a location for research and open innovation. With numerous international conferences and as the seat of the most important players in foreign trade promotion, it has developed into the hub of German foreign trade.

High-profile international speakers and keynote speakers from the fields of research, business and politics will present ways and opportunities for digital technologies and their application for sustainable cities. International experts will then discuss the topics presented. In addition, successful German projects with a focus on digitalization, automation and artificial intelligence in water and wastewater treatment will be given a virtual podium for presentation and exchange. In break-out sessions, impulses will be given and discussed on open data platforms, digitization in healthcare and data governance.

“Digital solutions developed by German companies can also make an important contribution to resilience and efficiency in the water industry abroad. We are pleased to play a leading role in shaping the event and thus drive innovative and future-oriented cooperation with the German water industry in foreign markets,” says Julia Braune, Managing Director at German Water Partnership e.V. – the network of the internationally oriented German water industry.
