The outreach event on Eco-Industrial Parks in Indonesia and Vietnam is jointly organized by the PiT Desk Southeast Asia of the GIZ Agency for Business and Economic Development (AWE) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), in close cooperation with the German Water Partnership (GWP), the German RETech Partnership, and DIHK – Chambers for GreenTech.
Indonesia and Vietnam are currently experiencing rapid industrial growth, which is placing increasing pressure on natural resources, waste and wastewater management systems, and the overall environmental performance of industrial zones. Against this backdrop, both countries are actively pursuing the transformation of conventional industrial parks into Eco-Industrial Parks (EIPs) in line with international standards, including those of UNIDO.
The event will present the key findings of a comprehensive study conducted on selected industrial parks in Indonesia and Vietnam. The study assesses current environmental performance, identifies gaps in waste and wastewater management as well as resource efficiency, and outlines concrete technology and investment needs for the transition towards EIPs. With direct contributions from industrial park operators from both countries, the event will highlight priority investment areas and concrete entry points for German and European solutions in waste management, resource efficiency, and (waste)water treatment.
A central element of the event is the opportunity for direct exchange with industrial park representatives and key stakeholders from Indonesia and Vietnam, who are actively seeking targeted technologies, expertise, and partnerships to support their transformation processes. The event therefore offers valuable insights into current market needs and concrete business and cooperation opportunities in Southeast Asia.
