Career: Sophie Henkel has a degree in M.A. European Studies, studying in Germany, Spain and Denmark. She has several years of international experience working with associations. Before joining German Water Partnership, she worked in Brussels for four years. There she was employed in a European association for intelligent transport systems. Previously, she worked as a Blue Book Trainee at the European Commission. Her core competencies include aspects of general corporate communications (press relations, online, project and member communications) as well as strategic customer relations management and the organisation of high-profile events.
