The board of directors of a maximum of 15 representatives. It elects its executive board, which is composed of one one chairperson and three deputies. The GWP board appoints the general manager and herewith controls operations. It also organizes working groups which are headed by board members wherever possible.
The last board election took place on July 5th, 2022 during the 18th General Assembly in Berlin and elected 15 nominees to the board of directors for the term 2022-26.
Ingo Hannemann, Chairman of the Board
The certified electrical engineer has been active in the energy and water industry for more than 25 years.
Until March 31, 2025, he was operationally active as Technical Managing Director and Spokesperson for the Management Board of HAMBURG WASSER. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2017, he was responsible for the Technology division for energy, water, and wastewater at Stadtwerke Osnabrück AG, overseeing all pipeline-based sectors in the city. His previous roles also included positions at the MVV Energie Group and Arthur Andersen Business Consulting.
Since 2024, Ingo Hannemann has been Chairman of the Board of German Water Partnership e. V.
