The board of directors of a maximum of 15 representatives. It elects its executive board, which is composed of one one chairperson and three deputies. The GWP board appoints the general manager and herewith controls operations. It also organizes working groups which are headed by board members wherever possible.
The last board election took place on July 5th, 2022 during the 18th General Assembly in Berlin and elected 15 nominees to the board of directors for the term 2022-26.
Gunda Röstel, Chairwoman of the Board
As a certified special education teacher and later as a School Director, Gunda Röstel works in her political commitment as party leader of Alliance 90 / The Greens from 1996 – 2000. Since 2000 she is in a Managementposition in the water sector. She is one of the co-founders of the German Water Partnership and has been involved in the board of the association from the very beginning, with a focus on capacity development and political networking. Against the background of her many years of activity in the water sector, she has extensive experience in corporate management, project management, strategy and business development, communication with politics and the public, and human resources management. As University Council Chairwoman of the University of Excellence Dresden, she is also familiar with the challenges of research, teaching and administration. Up to now, she has had a special international impact on the development of basic vocational training in Vietnam in the wastewater sector or in association cooperation in Ukraine, Vietnam or Jordan.
