African Water Association

AfWA develops programs that Members fully benefit from such as:

  • Technical and administrative surveys
  • Vocational training (Member utilities training centers)
  • Liquid sanitation management
  • Capacity building (AfWA’s Academy for Water & Sanitation)
  • Innovative technology
  • Fecal sludge management
  • Resilience to climate change
  • Peer-to-peer learning
  • Strengthening and monitoring laboratories for clean drinking water.

AfWA does organize:

  • Congresses every two years that thousands of delegates
  • Technical sessions by its Scientific & Technical Council (STC) every four or six months
  • Master classes every six months
  • Workshops, online-seminars panel on specific issues, etc….

AfWA membership consists of: 

  • Corporate Members: Organizations, establishments, or utilities operating in the drinking water, sanitation and environment sector in Africa.
  • Affiliate Members: Organizations operating in the drinking water, sanitation and environment sector at national, continental, or international levels.
  • Individual Members: Individuals comprised of academic practitioners, researchers, sector and other professionals, retired individuals, students, and persons whose work and interests are related to the drinking water, sanitation and environment sector.
